Like-minded Contractors and Builders of
Mysore met in Southern Star Hotel in
Mysore and decided to form, Builders'
Association of India, Mysore Centre. Sri
Hampe Urs was elected as our Patron
Chairman. Builders' Association of India,
Head Quarter at Bombay, accepted our
request to form BAI, Mysore Centre.
On 11th Oct 87, Mysore
Centre was inaugurated by Sri S.A.N
Ranganathachar, President of BAI in a gala
function at Hotel Southern Star, Mysore.
Former Prime Minister Sri. H D Deve Gowda,
then the PWD minister of Karnataka and Sri
Siddaramiah graced the function as the
guests of Honour and Blessed the Centre.
Sri Thimma Reddy, the then Chairman of
Karnataka Centre , Sri M. Chinnaswamy Raju,
and several other dignitaries, and leading
lights of the industry were present at the
function.
From a humble beginning
with hardly a few members, we are today
100 plus members. The Mysore Centre of BAI,
has been very active. The Activities of
Mysore Centre have helped all the fellow
members and has won the respect of not
only Mysore but from all over India as
well.
'Spoorthi', the
ladies wing of the Builders Association of
India, Mysore Center, was launched on the
26th June 2002 amidst much fanfare. This
is the first ever ladies wing to be
associated with the Builders Association
in India.
'Mysore Shilpi'
a monthly newsletter of BAI Mysore Centre
has been the image of our centre. It comes
out with the latest technical information,
identification of happening around the
nation and globe. 'Mysore Shilpi' has won
the admiration of all the Centers of BAI.
Mysore Centre has
been the propagator of the objects and
ethics of the profession. Technical
functions, workshops for working
engineers, training workshops for workers,
workshop for the fresh One and all
appreciate graduates, seminars,
exhibitions, visits to important projects,
cultural activities.
Our motto has
been to improve the living standards of
the Society and the Members to serve them
better, day by day.
